M-Cubed Information Systems is committed to the use of disciplined software development processes. Our software development and maintenance customers can rely on M-Cubed’s sustained track record of delivering high-quality software projects on time and on budget. The use of mature, stable software development discipline is proven to yield repeatable processes that translate into greatly reduced errors and reliable delivery against schedule and budget constraints. Our software development methodology is based on industry standards, best practices from CMMI®, Project Management Institute, ISO, and over 25 years of M-Cubed's experience on a wide range of programs.

M-Cubed's software development methodology is built around the use of a Rapid Application Development (RAD) iteration strategy which we have used successfully on other federal software development projects for customers including the U.S. Treasury – Financial Management Service and the U.S. Census Bureau. At project commencement, M-Cubed initiates a series of highly focused requirements management and architectural analysis working sessions where M-Cubed and customer participants will review, confirm and build upon the selected system design and development approaches. Through this interaction, M-Cubed confirms the requirements, the architectural vision, the full life cycle activities and time phased schedule for achieving successful development of the proposed application. M-Cubed builds each component of the application through a series of iterations or “Builds” with each iteration providing increased functionality. Using an iterative process during which we meet with the application stakeholders to obtain their input, M-Cubed documents the application’s technical design including the system architecture, user interface and database design, which is then presented to the customer for review and approval. During each iteration M-Cubed presents one or more conceptual prototypes as a means of validating our initial understanding of the requirement. Based on user feedback to each prototype, M-Cubed incorporates system changes or enhancements and the process is repeated until the user requirements are satisfied. The benefit of this approach is that the stakeholders are involved in the systems development process and are able to rapidly provide feedback throughout the development lifecycle thus ensuring a solution that meets their specific requirements.

M-Cubed customers are the beneficiaries of our commitment to the SEI CMMI and the use of disciplined software development processes. Federal agencies can rely on M-Cubed's sustained track record of delivering high-quality, major software projects on time and on budget. M-Cubed’s philosophy and dedication allows us to deliver value-driven software solutions characterized by:

  • High quality, few defects
  • Predictable schedules and price with less re-work and more re-use
  • Qualified software engineers that possess the appropriate skill mix for the task.

We offer our clients the right ingredients — "best practices" approach founded upon leading industry standards — the right mix of skilled engineers and business analysts — and the technology know-how.
